We-Amra project launch & "Dance of Mother Earth": At The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art: June 30, 2017 (Kansas City, USA)

Dance fo Mother Earth 

This performing art presentation was based on one of the major learning concepts of We-Amra Part 1 project: "Mother Earth and Us".This was the first cultural event based on We-Amra book (written by Dr. Nivedita Ganguly, kansas City) and music album (composed by Mr. Nirmalya Roy (Kolkata, India). This event was inaugurated by Kimberly Masteller, the Jeanne McCray Beals Curator of South and Southeast Asian Art at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art (Kansas City, MO). This introductory note was followed by We-Amra Book and music album launch by Dr. Daniel Hinthron (Division Director of Infectious Diseases, Kansas University Medical Center) and Dr. Dev Maulick (Associate Dean, Division Director of Women Health, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, UMKC School of Medicine). This program was sponsored byThe Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas city ,MO and local community.  Participants of this events are: 

Dance mentors and choreographers: Mrs. Hema Sharma (Nritya School of Indian Dance and Music), Anjali Tata-Hudson (Anjali's Dance School), Samarpita Bajpai (Gurukul Dance Academy), Dr. Dithi Banerjee, Dr. Soma Ray, Sinduja Manda, Ruhi Chand & Rohit Chand, Richita Roy, Arpita Kanjilal, Seebalee Manna, Sonali Chowdhury. Music Mentors from local community: Mr Ken Foley: Shawnee Mission East High School choir director, Shenal Deshpande (Naad Bramha Music school ). Over all music direction: Mr. Nirmalya Roy. Performers: about eighty five children of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds participated in the learning process and presented this performing art presentations before about 600 audience. Mr. Nirmalya Roy visited Kansas city and conducted music workshop for local children of various ethnic groups. This event was sponsored by The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and local community. 

Over all program design, script writing, narration and lyrics of all songs: by Dr. Nivedita Ganguly. Music composer and singers of Original We-Amra album: Nirmalya Roy and young talented singers of Music Mantra Institue, Kolkata.
