"Melodies of Cross Roads": Celebration of Life event : Edwards Campus: Kansas City: August 11, 2018
Melodies of Cross Roads:This particular event was presented by children and young adults of various eithnic backgrounds from local Kansas Community along with a child guest artist from Austin (Aatmodhee Goswami). Nirmalya Roy, the music composer of We-Amra music album, singer and We-Amra Project's collaborator and conductor (India) was also present as over seas guest artist. In this particular musicals children presented musical pieces and dance numbers as per their own choice beyond We-Amra Book and Music album. This program was supported by local Kansas community. It was started with brief introduction of Dr. Nivedita Ganguly & Mr. Nirmalya Roy (We-Amra project intitiators & conductors) by Julia Stevermer. Introduction of newly established We-Amra non profit organization: Cross Roads (Cross Roads: Its name was later changed to We-Amra, Inc given close similariy of name with another local organizaiton) was presented by Dr. Nivedita Ganguly and Mr. Nirmalya Roy. The musical peices of this presentation include:
Orchestra: "Mantra": by High School Orchestra team (composition by Richard Meyer), popular country music ("Take me home country road") and a pure Indian classical piece (Desh Raag): presented by Aatmodhee Goswami,Tagore song Instrumental: presented by Pritika Manna and Yasmin Saadi. A poluplar Indian dance number with message of celebration of friendship was presented by Siddharth Choudhury and Patrick Sullivan. Guest performace was by Nirmalya Roy: A Vedic chant and a special musical treat: "Melodies of Raga".
