We-Amra Book Information
We-Amra book is a compilation of lyrics, poems, stories and original songs depicting some universal learning concepts and messages to the children and adults in our changing world. This book talks about mother earth, nature, animals, birds, importance of mother tongue and message of hope & unity. Each literary item is uniquely written in dual languages: English and Bengali side by side along with phonetic expression for each literary item so that everyone can read and understand the learning concepts: Majority of the Illustrations in this book are also done by the author herself. Some of the illustrations are done by Aratrika Pal, a high school student from Kansas City, USA who enjoys painting. This automatically broadens the horizon of its utility and scope of learning. The content of We-Amra book is used for making We-Amra music album. Content of this book is used as educational resouces for We-Amra awareness and educational projects.
Who should read this book and listen to the songs and poems?
- Any child who wants to learn these essential learning/awareness concepts and wants to be part of our educational project. This is a great resouce for the parents/adults to interact and have fun with the children in the learning process.
- Bengali children who are born and brought up in foreign country may use this book to learn their mother tongue to know their roots and identity to maintain diversity.
- This could be used as part of intercultural or international educational content for children as every literary item has English translation and phonetic expression for easy learning.
- It is also applicable for Bengali children who lives in Bengal but do not know Bengali regardless of reasons.
Author Information:
Dr. Nivedita Ganguly is born and brought up in India, currently residing in USA with her husband and two children for more than 25 years. She is a physician, Infectious Diseases specialist by profession. She is actively involved in teaching and education in Medical School. Her passion is writing, painting and music & various other art forms, She loves and respects people, specially all children regardless of their country, caste, language, religion, age, sex, physical, mental and socioeconomic differences or differences in need. She is the creator of We-Amra Projects along with her Indian collaborator Mr. Nirmalya Roy. She is the founder of We-Amra, Inc, We-amra Bangla Pathshala. Kochipata in Kansas city, She is the initiator and host of various We-Amra activity forums: We-Amra Senior Activity Forum, We-Amra Children Forum and We-Amra Mother & Other Activity Forum. They were initiated at the time of COVID 19 pandemic to provide social & emotional support, learning opportunites and creative sharing on We-Amra platform via virutal platform. She is a strong believer and promotor of healthy young generation, cultural diversity, unity and global peace.
